Crypto price API: daily-close quotes and OHLC history, plus FX and metals, free on one endpoint
One symbol, one call: the latest daily close for a crypto pair, an FX cross or a metal, and OHLC history for the same symbol. The symbol is a path segment and the resolution a required query param, so a malformed request is refused with a clear error. Every response states its source, its timestamp and that it is a close rather than a tick.
Each asset class carries a list endpoint that enumerates what it can actually quote, which is the honest way to discover coverage: ask the list rather than guess a ticker. Equity markets list their tickers the same way, but their price and history routes are not served today — the endpoint says so and names the contact for realtime and equity coverage. Nothing here needs a subscription, an exchange account or a payment header.

Crypto price API vs CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and exchange APIs
CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are the reference price APIs, sold as monthly plans with a call quota and a key; the exchanges — Binance, Coinbase — publish live public feeds for the pairs they list. All of them are the right tool for a tick. This endpoint is the right tool for the other question an agent asks far more often: what did this close at, across crypto, FX and metals, with one request shape and no key.
It is free and it is a daily close, and it says both in every response. There is no quota, no key and no payment header; an agent that wants a live tick or an equity quote asks for the on-request coverage the endpoint names, rather than being sold a number that is not what it looks like.
It is REST, and it is a close. A streaming feed and an equity quote are the on-request products the endpoint names in its own note, and this page does not pretend to be either of them.

Can I get historical crypto prices and OHLC candles?
Yes. The history endpoint returns daily-close OHLC bars for any supported symbol over the window you request; the docs carry the resolution and range parameters.
How much does the crypto price API cost?
Nothing. Price, history and the catalog endpoints take no payment header and no key. Realtime feeds and equity quotes are arranged on request rather than sold per call.
Does the price API cover FX and commodities as well as crypto?
Yes. FX crosses and metals are served through the same endpoint shape, each with a list endpoint for coverage, at the same daily-close cadence.
Is the crypto price data realtime?
No. The free feeds are daily closes, and every response says so with realtime set to false and the timestamp of the close. Realtime coverage is available on request, which is the note the endpoint returns.
Are stock prices available through the price API?
Not today. Equity markets list their tickers on a free catalog endpoint, but the equity price and history routes answer that they are not available and name the contact for realtime and global equity coverage.
